Florida Vacation: Day 1

Wednesday morning we got up early and headed to Florida for a vacation with the girls. Upon our arrival, Brendan was ready for this....
We couldn't fit the girls in our car with all our stuff so we unloaded everything, and while Daddy went to pick them up, Brendan and I took a nap.

Once they all got back to our room, Brendan was ready to play. I think he was pretty glad to see his sisters.
And if I'm not mistaken, they were pretty glad to see him, too.
We all got ready and headed out to find some dinner. We decided to hit up a restaurant right on the beach. Brendan got his first glimpse, and his first feel, of the ocean.

Naturally, the girls can't pass up a playground.

And and at this point, Makayla was ready to eat. In case you can't tell, she has perfected the art of pouting.

Once we got some dinner, we were ready to hit the beach again.
Well, everyone except Brendan. He was done for the night.

Father's Day 2010

Our day started bright and early. Around 6 a.m., in fact. By the time Mommy and Daddy were good and awake, Brendan was ready for his first nap.
When he woke up, Daddy gave him his first taste of another new food: applesauce. After a few unsure bites, he seemed to enjoy it. They both did.

We spent the afternoon running a couple errands and playing at home. Brendan and Daddy had some Father's Day snuggles.

And shortly thereafter, Brendan was ready to call it quits for the night.

We certainly did enjoy our first Father's Day all together.

Swim Like A Fish

They're building a new pool on base and it is not quite ready yet. In the meantime, we can swim in the indoor pool. Today Brendan experienced the swimming pool for the first time.
He seemed to enjoy it. That is, until Daddy dunked him.

All in all, it was a great afternoon. Followed by a great evening which included a little tummy time on Mommy and Daddy's bed.
We are trying to get Brendan to roll over, but he will not cooperate. In due time....

Trying New Things

Right at four months we started baby cereal. Brendan seems to like it. At his four month well visit we got the ok to start him on fruits and vegetables. His first? Mommy's favorite, green beans. He seems to love them. In fact, one day at daycare this week he polished off TWO containers of green beans AND a bowl of cereal for lunch. What a little piggy. He knows when it's time for Mommy to eat. Doesn't matter which meal - if I am getting ready to eat, he thinks it's his turn as well. And for goodness sake, don't take too long to give him his food. He'll squawk even if you take too long between bites. What a big boy he is getting to be. I wish he'd take a break from growing for a while.
