Sea Legs

Look what we got today.
Just kidding. This was out in the parking lot and we "borrowed" it while we were waiting for Dad. Where was Dad? Oh, he was inside paying for our snorkeling gear.

Unfortunately, Tom had to order his wetsuit online so it looks like I'll be going without him. Ever tried to put on a wetsuit? It ain't easy.

Anyway, Brendan got tired of being in the store so while Tom wrapped things up we took a walk.

This is a $20 Cosco umbrella stroller and is the best $20 I've spent in recent weeks. We LOVE this thing.
For the record, I hate it when he does this.

Hope this kid doesn't mind being featured on my blog.

It's been a fairly uneventful weekend around the Jones house. Unless you count the fact that Brendan can now walk. Only a few steps, but that still counts. I can't get any pictures of it yet but I'm going to work on that tomorrow. Instead you can have these.

This one is quite possibly my favorite...I love his expression.

And here are a couple action shots.

He takes off with this thing like a bat out of you know where.

He got his first Twizzler the other night.

Cross your fingers that I'll be able to get some good walking footage tomorrow!

And We're Off!

The bike seat came in the mail today. And that meant my dinner plans went out the window and we went for a ride when Daddy got home.
He hated the helmet.

Until we got going.

We rode to the park, which, of course, meant swings.

As if I don't have enough pictures of him swinging.

However, I don't think I have any pictures of this guy swinging.

We rode home on the sea wall and happened to catch the sunset.

Bath time around here is such a chore. Because he likes to do this.
And this.

Both are obviously dangerous so I spend the entire time ordering him to "sit" and "stop."

He may be naughty but he sure is cute.

I don't usually take pictures of the back of his head, but I just love these curls, and I'm afraid I'll forget what they look like once he's big.

I found him playing with this the other day. I wonder if he'll take after me.

Last but not least, I think I forgot to share this one, and it happens to be one of my favorite recent pictures.

Sound Effects

He likes them.

The stupid battery died and cut us off so I plugged it in and tried again. The first one is the funniest.

Around the House

It's been an uneventful week, which means no exciting pictures. But here are a few from around the house.

He LOVES bath time.

I, on the other hand, do not love bath time so much. Because I usually end up looking like this.

He's always happy when he wakes up in the morning. No matter how frustrated I am by the end of the day, the next morning it's forgotten. Even though I know he wears me out, I'm always excited to go get him in the mornings.

He's going to take off shortly. He lets go of the sides of the crib and stands on his own. And then he laughs and falls down.

We are anxiously awaiting the baby bike seat. We got his helmet today, and of course we had to try it on.

Looking forward to the weekend!

You Know You're A Mom When...

I recently found Kat's blog, and loved this post. So I came up with my own list.

You know you're a mom when...

...your restaurant order is determined by what your toddler can eat.

...you go grocery shopping and come home with multiple bite-sized snacks for a one-year-old and nothing for your husband.

...you wipe milk dribbles off the floor with your sock and don't think twice.

...you know the order in which the animals appear in Brown Bear, Brown Bear.

...after a week of baby diarrhea, you open a diaper and shout, "Yes!!" when you find a solid poop.

Apparently, in Japan Valentine's Day is mostly geared towards the men. Good thing since when Tom went to get me a card (after work on Valentine's Day) there were none left. No problem for me. I prefer the Godiva chocolates anyway. So, since we're living in Japan I attempted to stick with their tradition. I made dinner (fried chicken) and baked a cake. Brendan licked his first beater.

It was strawberry cream cheese frosting. And it was a hit.

Daddy did manage to find a card for Peanut.

When I change his clothes in the mornings I give him a cup of milk and turn on the TV to hopefully distract him enough to keep still. This morning he was mesmerized by Super Letters or something like that.

He also loves Word World. I'm convinced that means he's a genius.

I'm working on learning how to use this camera of mine...you know, other than leaving it on auto and hoping for the best. In case you didn't know that, you can see the progress here. I also signed up for a month long class to improve my skills. I need all the help I can get. Anyway, today's assignment was to take a picture of a kiss. I used the self-timer for the first time and have no idea how you're supposed to get pictures that aren't blurry. Any suggestions?
