On Brendan's second day of daycare, I stopped by to check on him. I walked down the hall to his classroom and caught Tom talking to his teacher. What were they talking about? His eating habits. She was telling him that we need to work on teaching him to use his utensils. Up until then I had been giving him finger foods, and spoon feeding him foods like yogurt, oatmeal, etc. Since then, we've been working on it.
We've made some progress. Mrs. Kayoko was telling me just today that Brendan is doing much better. I still want to feed him myself in order to avoid a mess, but he's got to learn some time.
We obviously still have a long way to go.
But he cleans up nicely!

ReplyDeleteI'm just as guilty! I'd much rather feed my child and avoid the mess.....but I know they won't learn that way.
Beautiful curls! You sure do pick messy foods for him to teach himself to eat with utensils with. hahaha.
